Spotting Red Flags|
BuildCasting.com™
Spotting Bad Castings is Hard. Here are examples on what to avoid when searching.
Rule Number 1
Never communicate with a "model scout" on platforms like WhatsApp, Snapchat, or Instagram. Legitimate agencies and scouts will only accept your portfolio or
application through their official websites.

Rule Number 2
Never accept a check for a project you didn't complete in person. Fake checks are common. Additionally, never use gift cards or payment apps like Zelle or Venmo for castings or jobs.

Rule Number 3
Always check for reviews and feedback online before meeting with a modeling agency or company. Previous models' experiences can provide insights into the professionalism and legitimacy of the organization. Independently verify everything to ensure your safety.

Rule Number 4
Never make a deposit over the phone for a shoot you haven't attended in person. Legitimate agencies will arrange a meeting or casting session before discussing payment details. If an agency is genuinely interested in working with you, they will schedule a shoot after meeting you in person. Depositing money over the phone without prior face-to-face interaction can lead to potential scams or fraudulent activities.
Final Reminder

If something doesn't feel right, don't do it.
